This vegan face mask is perfect for a chill evening in. Add in Venetia's turmeric milk and you've got yourself the perfect evening.

Tumeric + Avocado Face Mask & Tumeric Mylk

Ingredients

  • Face Mask:

  • 2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1⁄2 avocado

  • 5 drops of your favourite essential oil (optional)

  • Turmeric Mylk:

  • 350ml of oat mylk (coconut works well too)

  • 1⁄2 tsp of turmeric powder

  • Pinch of black pepper

  • 1 tsp maca powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1⁄2 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 medjool date

Instructions

  1. Face Mask: start by mashing the avocado using a fork. In a medium bowl, combine your mashed avocado with the rest of your ingredients.

  2. Apply the mask all over your face and neck using slow, circular motions.

  3. Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Rinse off with warm water using a muslin cloth and pat dry.

  5. Follow up with your moisturiser or some coconut oil.

  6. Turmeric Mylk: blend the ingredients in a Nutribullet (or similar).

  7. Pour into a saucepan and heat through on a medium heat before serving.

- If there was a Beyonce in the world of superfoods it would be turmeric. It's really detoxifying, it's anti-inflammatory and I've decided to not only put it inside my body in the shape of a really lovely hot turmeric milk, I've also decided to put it on my face in an avocado face mask. This is the perfect self-care session dream team. Let's get making. The face mask starts with the humble avocado. Now if your avocado is going a little bit mushy and a little bit brown, use it for a face mask. So I'm just going to slice him in half, scoop out the flesh, and then I'm going to add a little bit of turmeric powder and then mash the two together. This is a good time to add a few drops of essential oil. I'm using chamomile because I find it really soothing and calming. And I'm just going to add about five to 10 drops. And then I'm gonna mix that in as well. I'm now going to set this to one side and it's time to turn our attention to the turmeric milk. So here I have some oat milk. This is my goto plant milk. I'm going to pour this milk into the blender. And then of course some turmeric powder, some cinnamon. Maca powder, now this stuff is amazing. It adds a really lovely malty flavor and it's also supposed to be really good for your libido, so there's all the benefits coming out of this superfood. Add a pinch of black pepper. Again, this is to activate the turmeric. I'm also going to add a little bit of nutmeg. And some vanilla. Finally a medjool date. This is totally optional, but I like my drinks sweet so I add in a medjoolie date just to give it a lovely caramel flavor. So make sure you've removed the stone. And then it's time to blend. So let's turn the heat on the hop. In it goes. Yeah! And you just want to heat that through gently on a low to medium heat. And then boom, the best drink of your life, probably. Maybe. Hopefully. The milk is now perfectly heated through so I'm just going to grab a suitably hipster serving glass and then I'm just going to pour in the milk. This is totally optional, but we have some star anise in the studio, so I'm just going to whack one of those in for some extra flavor flave. There you have it, your detoxifying dream duo. All you need to do with the face mask is just place it on your cleansed face, leave it for about 20 minutes while you relax and sip on your turmeric milk, and then just remove it with a hot cloth and then follow with a lovely oil or your favorite moisturizer. And this drink is just gonna make you feel lovely and warm and comforted. It really, really is delicious. In fact I might just give it a little go. Oh, that is just absolutely lovely.
