• 1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pulse until almost smooth. Taste and add more salt, if necessary.
  3. Unfold puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Spoon the pesto in an even layer over the pastry.
  4. Cut dough into strips, twist each strip, and place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve and enjoy.
