Spiced Candied Pecans

Go nuts! Make batches of these spiced candied pecans for gifts and holiday parties!

Supplies

  • 3 cups unsalted pecan halves
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together egg white, sugars, spices, and salt. Add pecans and mix until the nuts are fully coated.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Brush the surface with melted butter.
  4. Spread the pecan mixture in an even layer. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Once the sugar coating is hardened, serve or store in a sealed container.
