A cousin to Falooda, Alouda is inescapable as you walk down the streets of Port Louis. It's refreshing, delicious, and filling.
Supplies
- 2 tablespoons basil seeds
- 1 cup agar agar, chopped into 1/2 inch strips
- 2.5 cups water, divided
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup strawberry syrup
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon almond extract
Steps
- Clean your basil seeds, removing any stems.
- Soak your basil seeds for at least an hour.
- Boil 1 Cup of water, and add dried agar agar for 4-5 minutes or until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Add all your ingredients into a pitcher.
- Pour into a glass full of ice.
- Enjoy!
