London Fog

In the Northwest, it can get pretty foggy and cold. So if you're looking for a good defense, make yourself some London Fog.

Supplies

  • 1/2 tablespoon Earl Gray Tea
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup milk

Steps

  1. Fill tea ball with tea
  2. Add to a kettle and let steep 3-5 minutes
  3. Meanwhile, heat milk in small sauce pan, not boiling (135-150 Degrees F)
  4. Remove milk from heat, and whisk until foamy
  5. Fill mug halfway with tea
  6. Stir in two tablespoons of the vanilla syrup
  7. Fill the glass the rest of the way up with hot milk, holding back the foam
  8. Top with a few spoonfuls of foam to finish

Supplies

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • 1 cup water

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan
  2. Stir until sugar dissolves and bring liquid to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer until syrup thickens about 20 minutes
  4. Let stand until cool
