Mini Baked Alaskas
They may be bite-sized, but they're bursting with flavour
Supplies
- 150 grams vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
- 150 grams strawberry ice cream, slightly softened
- 150 grams chocolate ice cream, slightly softened
- 1 sheet sponge cake (cut into a circle)
- 3 egg whites
- 75 grams sugar
Steps
- Line a bowl with plastic wrap. Arrange the vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream in layers into the bowl.
- Top it off with sponge cake and freeze until firm.
- Beat the egg whties until frothy. Add sugar in three stages, beating between each addition. Beat until stiff peaks form. Place the mixture into a piping bag.
- Place frozen ice cream onto a serving plate and peel off the plastic wrap. Pipe the meringue onto the ice cream.
- Use a torch to to brown the surface of the meringue. Serve immediately.
