• 200 grams sugar
  • 100 grams golden syrup or light corn syrup
  • 60 milliliters water
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Dried insects


  1. Heat the sugar and golden syrup in a pan until it reaches the hard crack stage, 150C/305F.
  2. Immediately place the pan in a bowl of ice water to cool it and swirl the mixture around.
  3. On a silicone mat line up your dried insects. Carefully pour the hot sugar over the top of the insects into your desired shapes and then add a lollipop stick. Allow cooling completely before removing from the mat.
