DIY Tin Can Grill

With a little elbow grease and a few kitchen items, never be grill-less again. Get crafty and make your own single-serve tin can grill!

Supplies

  • 1 tin can, cleaned with lid removed
  • Safety gloves
  • Can opener
  • Kitchen or metal shears
  • Aluminum foil
  • Self-lighting charcoal
  • A lighter
  • Skewers

Steps

  1. While wearing protective gloves, carefully remove the lip of your can with the can opener. Use the shears to cut several vertical strips, along the can. Carefully bend the strips outward and then bend the tips upward to create an angle.
  2. Create a strip of foil to cover the exposed tips. Cover the entire top surface with more foil, to create a bowl-like shape. Use metal skewers or wrap wooden skewers with foil, and arrange on top.
  3. Light a few charcoal briquettes. Once they're covered in ash, you're ready to grill!
